Find the Way. Lead the Way. Train the Way. Get Out of the Way.

The Night Our Mission Was Loud and Clear.

By Dave Fairburn, Co-Founder, North Point Outdoors & CrewHero

Every now and then, a moment hits you hard enough to stop time.

For me, it happened at our annual holiday party.

There were 250 people in the room. It looked more like a wedding than a company event. Families. Kids. Laughter. Our entire team showing up proud and dressed sharp.

At one point, Andrew’s dad — John — walked up to me with a look of disbelief.

He glanced around the room. He took in the music, the food, the smiling faces.

And then he asked me something simple:

“How the hell did you do this?”

I didn’t think. I just said it.

“We found the way.

It came out honest and from the gut.

Because that’s what we’ve always done.

From a Basement Desk to a Ballroom Celebration

When Andrew and I started this company, we worked out of a 10x20 shed.

We shared a single L-shaped desk in his basement bedroom.

We had no money. No systems. Just ambition and a fire to build something better.

And on that night, standing in front of 250 people, we were about to hand over the keys to two brand new Chevy 1500 Custom pickups to two of our longest-serving crew leaders: Josh and Ignacio.

Ten years of loyalty.

Ten years of showing up.

Ten years of leading others and helping us grow.

This wasn’t just about the trucks.

It was about the message.

The Message Was Simple:

“When you work here, you are family. When you are loyal, you are rewarded.”

John stood there watching the moment unfold. He’s a good man. He worked 35 years at a well-known, prestigious high school.

When he retired?

They gave him a wooden stool.

And now, here we were — giving two hardworking men the keys to brand-new trucks in front of their wives, kids, and coworkers.

Why?

Because they earned it.

Because it mattered.

Because we wanted every single person in that room to see and feel what we believe down to our bones:

We win together.

Legacy Isn’t What You Build. It’s What You Pass On.

The company will keep growing. That’s inevitable.

But the way we lead — the way we honor people — that’s what matters most.

Anyone can buy trucks.

But not everyone will do it to send a message like this.

“We see you.

We remember where we started.

And when you run with us — we take care of our own.”

Final Thought

People ask how we got here.

It wasn’t magic.

It was grit.

It was loyalty.

It was the kind of leadership that moves aside and lets others shine.

That’s the kind of company I want to keep building.

That’s CrewHero. That’s North Point Outdoors.

Find the way.

Lead the way.

Train the way.

Then get the hell out of the way and let great people rise.

And when they do?

Hand them the keys.

And mean it.
